Job description

We are seeking to add a local Residential Superintendent to our growing and talented high-end custom home division, Phillip Wentzel Custom Homes. This position requires the individual to be construction minded, highly organized, and work independently.

Objectives of this Role

Oversee daily project operations, ensuring quality control and safety standards are consistently met.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily paperwork and documentation on-site, including processing and filing relevant forms and reports
  • Prepare and submit daily safety reports and field observation summaries
  • Conduct daily field observations, including capturing site photos, and maintain logs of personnel present for safety and quality control purposes
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to implement the project schedule, procure necessary materials, and assign and schedule subcontractors
  • Confirm the scope of work performed by subcontractors to ensure it aligns with project requirements
  • Review and interpret architectural, structural, and interior drawings and prints
  • Execute and oversee the scope of work assigned to subcontractors
  • Facilitate and assist in the project layout
  • Facilitate and assist with project closeout tasks
  • Develop and update a look-ahead schedule every two weeks, making adjustments as needed to ensure project progress
  • Inspect material orders to ensure both quality and quantity meet project specifications

Requirements

  • Local travel to job sites daily
  • 10 years of experience as a Superintendent in residential construction. Custom home experience is a plus
  • Thorough understanding of design-build construction including scheduling, permitting, budgets, safety and reporting
  • Experience in all stages of building construction
  • Be equally comfortable leading all scale of projects, from small improvements to large new builds and remodels
  • Excellent client relations management
  • Must have a valid Driver's License with a good motor vehicle record
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Office, etc.)
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
