About the Organization

Liberty Dogs is a premier Service Dog training program whose goal is to empower Veterans with disabilities to lead more independent and fulfilling lives - enhancing their well-being through the unconditional support that Liberty Service Dogs provide. Located on a 27-acre campus, it includes a training facility, dog housing, an administrative and multipurpose building, and accommodations for Veterans staying on campus to train with their Liberty Service Dogs.


Position Summary:

The Maintenance Associate is a full-time, 40-hour per week position that plays a critical role within the Operations team. This individual will ensure all campus areas, facilities, and equipment are meticulously maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, functionality, and safety. The role requires a highly detail-oriented, proactive professional with a strong background in facilities maintenance and a commitment to excellence in all aspects of their work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular inspections of the assigned buildings, grounds and equipment to ensure the campus meets organizational and cleanliness standards .
  • Assist in maintenance of the assigned buildings, grounds and equipment.
  • Ensure supplies throughout the campus are well stocked and inventory levels are maintained.
  • Collect building trash, recycle and waste from assigned buildings and take them to the campus collection center.
  • Support seasonal operations, including snow removal and weather-related preparation or response.
  • Clean andmaintainassigned areas (e.g., lobbies, hallways, restrooms, storage areas, service corridors) according to departmental standards.
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, buff floors; clean walls, windows, mirrors, furniture, upholstery, fixtures.
  • Replenish supplies (e.g., soap, paper towels, amenities) in restrooms andcommon areas.
  • Respond to spills, cleanupand sanitize as needed, following infection-control (or hygienic) and safety protocols.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in facilities maintenance or a similar technical role.
  • This role requires the ability to prioritize workflows, has strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
  • Proficiency in office software (Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a team-oriented mindset.
  • Must pass a background check and possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.


Physical Demands & Work Environment:

  • Must be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. and performing physically demanding tasks including bending, climbing ladders, and extended periods of standing or walking.
  • Comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor environments in all weather conditions, year-round.
  • Work on ladders and confined spaces will be necessary.
  • Regular use of hand tools such as shovels, brooms, mops and more. The use of power tools such as pressure washers, saws, and drills will be required.
