How to make $500,000 as a lawyer?

A litigation case manager typically does not earn $500,000 annually; such high earnings are more common for senior partners or highly specialized lawyers with significant experience and a successful client base. To increase earning potential, lawyers often pursue advanced certifications, develop niche expertise, and work in large firms or high-stakes areas like corporate or intellectual property law. Building a strong reputation and managing a high volume of complex cases can also contribute to higher income levels.

High-paying jobs that can reach $10,000 monthly without a degree often include roles like sales managers, real estate brokers, or skilled trades such as electricians or plumbers, especially with experience and certifications. Success in these fields depends on skills, experience, and sometimes commission or performance-based pay structures.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Litigation Case Manager, and why are they important?

Job description

Litigation Attorney

At AKB Law, we represent professionals who refuse to be silenced in the workplace. Clients are executives, managers, physicians, educators, and corporate leaders navigating discrimination, retaliation, harassment, and wrongful termination. They are smart, accomplished, and often exhausted from fighting alone.

We are looking for an Associate Attorney who is ready to stand beside them, strategically, intelligently, and fearlessly.

If you are looking for a firm where you can hide in the background, this is not the place. If you are looking for a firm where your legal skill, voice, and leadership matter, keep reading.

This Is Not a Sit Quietly and Bill Hours Associate Role.

Responsibilities:

This is a litigation-forward role with significant responsibility.

You will:

  • Draft EEOC charges and position statements
  • Prepare and file federal complaints
  • Develop case strategy and theory from intake through trial
  • Draft and respond to written discovery
  • Take and defend depositions
  • Draft and argue motions (including summary judgment)
  • Participate in mediations and settlement negotiations
  • Prepare cases for trial
  • Communicate directly with sophisticated clients
  • Collaborate with paralegals and legal support staff to move cases efficiently

You will not simply assist. You will own cases with supervision, strategy sessions, and feedback.

Qualifications:

You Are:

  • Licensed and in good standing (Indiana preferred; multi-state is a plus)
  • 26 years of litigation experience preferred (employment law is a bonus, not a requirement)
  • Comfortable drafting without heavy templates
  • Strong in legal writing and analysis
  • Able to think strategically not just reactively
  • Confident speaking in depositions or eager to learn quickly
  • Organized and deadline-driven
  • Coachable but not fragile
  • Emotionally intelligent with clients in crisis
  • Energized by advocating for women in the workplace

Bonus If You:

  • Have federal court experience
  • Have taken or defended depositions
  • Understand damages theories (including emotional distress and punitive damages)
  • Thrive in a high-accountability environment

Our team is dedicated to providing high-quality legal services and achieving the best outcomes for clients.
