The Role:

This Line Lead is responsible for leading daily production operations to ensure safety, quality, efficiency, and schedule adherence. The position oversees production area start-ups, shutdowns, line changeovers, and material verification while maintaining continuous output and accurate documentation. The role directs and supports production team members, provides backup coverage during breaks or absences, and ensures compliance with work orders, SOPs, quality standards, and safety requirements. Responsibilities also include routine quality checks, data entry in Syspro, performance tracking, training and coaching operators, enforcing safety policies, and maintaining a clean, organized, 5S-compliant manufacturing environment.

What You Will Do:

  • Daily start-up and shutdown of production area
  • Ensure safety, quality, and productivity standards are met
  • Verify materials to be used in production match requirements in the Bill of Materials
  • Documenting daily production performance and issues
  • Maintain continual production to maximize daily output
  • Perform routine quality testing of product
  • Direct the efforts of production team to meet the targets

  • Lead by example and coordinate daily activities of production team members in assigned manufacturing areas while modeling company values and expectations.
  • Lead production operations to meet safety, quality, schedule adherence, and efficiency objectives.
  • Lead line startups and changeovers on shop floor in a timely and efficient manner to maximize uptime and productivity.
  • Serve as backup for production associates and line operators during breaks or absences to ensure uninterrupted production.
  • Train, coach, and cross-train machine operators and team members on equipment operations, material handling, gauging, documentation, and safety requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with work orders, SOPs, quality specifications, and production documentation requirements.
  • Perform routine quality checks including visual inspections, audits, and documentation reviews to ensure product conformity.
  • Enforce safety policies, OSHA requirements, and promote a strong safety culture throughout the production floor.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and 5S-compliant (Visual Factory) production environment.
  • Motivate, engage, and support team members while providing coverage for breaks and lunches when necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.
