Location: Varies
Shift: Varies between 1st-3rd shifts. This posting is for Per Diem only.

Lifeworks is hiring a Relief Teacher/Counselor (Residential Counselor) to work with Individuals with ID/DD in one of our Residential Programs. We are a nonprofit human service agency that provides adults with developmental disabilities with the opportunity to live engaged and meaningful lives. We're searching for an enthusiastic individual who will bring their personality, an independent work ethic, and a strong belief in enhancing the lives of those we serve. *Candidates must have related or direct experience working with the community we serve.
Essential Duties:
  • Promotes optimal health for individuals through routine, preventive, and emergency health care
  • Responsible for assisting with all hands-on direct care which includes but not limited to: showering, toileting, shaving, brushing teeth, meal-time assistance
  • Carry out Program and Individual goals as instructed by supervisors.
  • Provides structure, teaching and counseling as needed. Provides information through means of log notes, data books, communication logs, or telephone, as needed
  • Transports individuals to appointments and activities.
  • Other duties and/or assignments to work/program locations based on the needs of the company
Requirements:
  • Experience working with Individuals with ID/DD
  • High School diploma/GED, related experience preferred.
  • Must be able to pass Fingerprint background check, CORI, DPPC and Driving background checks
  • Valid Driver's License required
  • Valid MAP certification is preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
