Job description

LifeWorks ofย Austin, TXย is looking for full-time Maintenance Specialist to join our Facilities team! The Maintenance Specialist is responsible for LifeWorks facilities and equipment management including building maintenance, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, garbage/recycling management, painting, water and sewage management, and exterior grounds maintenance. Additionally, the position supports client services through donation acquisition as well as furniture procurement, installation, and maintenance for offices, residential facilities and client apartments.

This is a full-time, non-exempt position. This position offers a rate of pay ranging from $22.00 - $27.96/hr. depending upon experience, paid bi-weekly. Benefits are also included, which consist of 24 PTO days per year (accrued); 11 paid holidays per year; a premium-free employee medical plan with $100 per month HSA contribution (plus other affordable employee or family medical, dental, and vision options!); a retirement savings plan with 50% match on the first 6% of contributions, and much more!

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs and/or coordinates maintenance and repair duties to facilities, grounds and equipment.
  • Moves furniture, equipment and other loads to and from LifeWorks locations and donation pick-ups sites.
  • Purchases supplies and equipment necessary for completion of assigned projects.
  • Ensures that LifeWorks fleet of vehicles meets inspection, safety, and maintenance requirements.
  • Completes renovation and construction projects on LifeWorks sites, which may involve light plumbing, electrical or basic household or commercial repair.
  • Climbs ladders to perform ceiling, gutter, and roof work and repairs.
  • Maintain facility and property grounds through tasks such as landscaping, tree trimming, window cleaning, and general facility maintenance, often requiring work on a ladder.

QUALIFICATIONSย 

  • Requires a high school diploma or GED;
  • Requires a minimum of 3 years related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience and skills in basic household and commercial maintenance and repair.
  • Experience and skills in light plumbing, electrical, and vehicle maintenance.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, and Outlook and the ability to use search engines to research solutions for maintenance needs.
