Job description

Salary Information

Compensation plans are based on a multi-step progression system. The pay range reflects the entry level and maximum salary potential in the assigned pay grade. \r\n**A starting salary may be negotiated and will be commensurate with education, training and experience in alignment with pay administration policies and Montgomery Personnel Board Rules & Regulations** \r\n

Nature of Work

The\r\nfundamental reason this classification exists is to perform manual and clerical\r\nduties in a library. Employees in this\r\nclassification are closely supervised and are primarily responsible for shelving\r\nand organizing materials in the library.\r\nOther major responsibilities include answering general questions from\r\npatrons, preparing meeting areas, preparing displays and decorations,\r\nperforming light maintenance and/or housekeeping, and assisting staff with a\r\nvariety of tasks. Supervision is\r\ntypically received from Librarians. This\r\nclassification differs from the Library Assistant classifications in that\r\nLibrary Assistants are typically assigned to more technical tasks such as\r\nproviding reference assistance and performing circulation duties.\r\n

Special Requirements

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:Position incumbents may be required to work nights and weekends. Some positions may be part time.\r\n\r\nDESIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (NOT REQUIRED): High school diploma or G.E.D.\r\n\r\n
