Advertising Summary: NMSU Grants located in sight of majestic Mount Taylor (11,300 feet) is a small, rural, comprehensive community college of the NMSU system located in scenic Cibola County, New Mexico 75 miles west of Albuquerque. The campus serves a culturally rich and diverse student body qualifying as both a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) and a Native American Serving Non-Tribal Institution (NASNTI).

Standard Work Schedule: Standard (M-F, 8-5)

Job Duties and Responsibilities: The Library Services Manager oversees the daily operations, services, staff, and resources of the campus library to support student success and institutional goals. Responsibilities include planning and evaluating library services, policies, budgets, and procedures; managing circulation, reference, technical, and access services; and ensuring effective use of library resources by students, faculty, staff, and community patrons. The Manager collaborates with faculty on collection development, instructional support, and information literacy initiatives; supervises and evaluates library staff and student employees; and coordinates workshops, library orientations, and training programs. The position administers library systems and applications, monitors service quality and operational effectiveness, and works closely with the Business Manager on budget planning, purchasing, subscriptions, and fiscal oversight. The Library Services Manager participates in institutional planning, professional development, and library consortia activities; ensures compliance with institutional policies and procedures; and performs other related duties in support of the library and the institution.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience: 
Associate's Degree + 6 years of relevant experience or a Bachelor's degree + 4 years of relevant experience.

Equivalent Qualifications: 

Preferred Qualifications: 
Master's degree in Library Science or related field.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

Environment: Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.

Physical Effort: Moderate physical activity.

Lifting Requirements: Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.

Risk: No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
