Job description

Job Title: Library Assistant I
Job Type: Part Time
Pay: $10.60 hourly
Schedule: Up to 25 hours per week- 12 pm to 4 pm with flexibility for other hours if needed.
The Briceville Public Library seeks an energetic, motivated individual who is interested in joining its team. Primary responsibilities include providing prompt and friendly service to the public at the circulation desk, training patrons in different technologies, and assisting in maintaining the library's computers. Applicants must exhibit a desire to build library skills, an ability to train others, and a willingness to assume additional responsibilities.
With minimal supervision, the Library Assistant I performs all of the duties of circulation and technology training. Applicants must be able to communicate effectively, follow written and oral instructions. Must be able to operate standard office equipment, lift and carry books up to 10/20 pounds on a regular basis, move heavy book trucks, stoop, bend and walk to assist customers with finding library material.
Excellent customer service skills and computer experience required, including knowledge of internet resources, electronic databases, standard software, and Web 2.0 resources. Applicants must have a high school diploma and be able to work days, evenings, and weekends.
