$15.60 - $20.25/Hourly Actual pay is determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, education, credentials, skills, internal equity, and business needs.


Overview
The Library Assistant works under the supervision of the Professional Librarian. Provides Library Services by answering questions; locating library materials; compiling, recording, sorting, and shelving library materials; recording identifying data and due date to issue materials to patrons; inspecting returned materials for damage; and monitoring cleaning services.
What you will do

  • Demonstrate proficiency in the library management system, pay-for-print software, and other library technologies to support daily library operations. Maintain a working knowledge of library resources, online databases, and library services to assist patrons in locating and accessing information. Provide basic reference assistance and directs patrons to the Librarian for specialized or advanced research support as appropriate.
  • Maintain positive communication with library patrons regarding access to library services throughout Riverside's hospitals and facilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service to students, faculty, staff, and other library users. Demonstrates flexibility and responsiveness in meeting the evolving needs and expectations of library patrons. Anticipate customer needs, exercise sound judgment in resolving service concerns, and initiate appropriate service recovery efforts to enhance the customer's experience.
  • Oversee the safety and security of the library, its contents, and patrons during assigned operating hours. Secure the building (opening and closing), respond to alarms, report incidents, and contact security personnel/emergency responders in the event of an emergency.

  • High School Diploma or GED, (Required)


Experience

  • General Administrative Assistant/Secretary experience (Preferred)
