Administrative Assist, Learning Resources Center - JC Campus
Job Description
The Administrative Assistant, Learning Resources Center (LRC), performs a variety of administrative, clerical, and customer service functions that support the effective operation of the Library and Learning Resources Center. This position reports directly to the Assistant Dean of the Learning Resources Center.
Job Duties
1. Maintain an accurate and complete filing system.
2. Produce letters, reports, and minutes from rough drafts utilizing word processing.
3. Compose routine correspondence.
4. Monitor expenditures and update budget spreadsheets.
5. Process email, correspondence, and phone calls in an effective and efficient manner.
6. Prepare and process check requests, purchase requisitions, travel vouchers, and other required budget-related paperwork.
7. Maintain an effective working relationship with college personnel and students.
8. Become proficient in Banner as it relates to job duties.
9. Prepare equipment inventory and salvage documentation.
10. Monitor and report maintenance requests for the Learning Resources Center.
11. Become proficient with Accudemia.
12. Upgrade skill level and performance through Employee Development.
13. Operate copy, scanner, and fax machines.
14. Work night or weekend hours as needed.
15. Demonstrate exceptional adherence to work schedule and policies.
16. Collect, sort, and distribute campus LRC mail.
17. Hire and supervise LRC student workers. Prepare student workers' timecards.
18. Answer telephone for Assistant Dean of LRC.
19. Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Dean of the Learning Resources Center, Dean of Teaching and Learning, and/or Campus Vice President.
Mandatory Qualifications
(M1) Associate's Degree (or higher) in Business and Office Technology or a related field from an institutional accrediting agency of higher education and three years of secretarial experience.
(M2) Training and/or experience in the operation of personal computers and proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint software.
(M3) Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Desirable Qualifications
(D1) Bachelor's Degree from an institutional accrediting agency of higher education.
(D2) Experience using Banner software.
(D3) Experience working with college students in a community college setting.
