Job description

LIBRARY ASSISTANT FLOATER - Part-time public service position, 20 hours per week. Essential duties and responsibilities include assisting patrons on the circulation desk, at self-service kiosks, and throughout the library space as needed, as well as all day-to-day tasks performed by library staff. This position requires the willingness to assist with crowd control during after-school hours, to enforce rules of conduct, and to assist in any other way needed to help library staff maintain order during crowded and busy times. Other duties include shelving library materials, checking materials in and out, answering patron questions, registering patrons for library cards, information searching, and basic computer troubleshooting. Applicants must be available to work some evenings and most Fridays and Saturdays, as well as having reliable transportation. This employee will be assigned to work at different locations on a weekly basis as a substitute wherever assigned throughout the service area. Each week's location assignments will be different.
