Branch Manager - Amy Sanders Library
Central Arkansas Library System (CALS)
Location: 10200 Johnson Drive, Sherwood, AR 72120
The Central Arkansas Library System (CALS) is seeking a dynamic, team-oriented Branch Manager to lead the Amy Sanders Library. Located in the heart of a thriving Sherwood community and adjacent to a local school, this branch serves a diverse and active population and plays a vital role in CALS's countywide services.
About the Role
The Branch Manager provides leadership for all aspects of library operations while fostering a welcoming, inclusive environment for patrons of all ages and backgrounds. This position is ideal for a collaborative leader who is passionate about community engagement and public service.
Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee day-to-day branch operations
  • Train, supervise, and evaluate library staff
  • Plan, coordinate, and promote programs and services
  • Build strong relationships through proactive community outreach
  • Ensure excellent customer service and a positive patron experience

Qualifications
  • ALA-accredited MLS (or comparable degree), or significant progress toward completion, preferred; relevant experience in concert with related education considered
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in a library setting
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to serving diverse communities

Schedule
This full-time position may include evenings and weekends.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Starting salary base is $55,307
