Job Posting: Level 1 Help Desk Technology


Job Goal: The Level 1 Help Desk position provides essential, first-line technical support to students and staff across Monroe Public Schools. Based at the Administration Building, this role supports the daily operation and maintenance of district technology systems.


Terms of Employment:

  • 3rd Party Contract
  • 40 hours per week
  • 12-month position

Compensation:

  • $16.00 to $18.00 per hour (based on experience and skill level)

Reports To: Director of District Technology


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one (1) year of experience in IT support, including the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of operating systems, hardware, and peripheral devices.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical instructions.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally in person, by phone, and in writing.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Willingness to learn, take direction, and adapt to evolving technology needs.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (required for travel between locations).
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide front-line technical support for staff and students across the district.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
  • Install and configure systems, applications, and devices.
  • Respond to and document help desk tickets in a timely and accurate manner using district ticketing systems.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and routine system updates.
  • Maintain and secure assigned areas, including locking/unlocking doors and setting alarms.
  • Travel to district locations as needed to provide on-site support.
  • Lift and move equipment weighing up to 65 lbs.
  • Wear district-approved uniform during all shifts (shirts provided; employee supplies khaki or black pants and slip-resistant shoes).
  • Work overtime as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
