7th Grade Middle School Girls Volleyball Coach

Position Overview:

Monroe Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to serve as the 7th Grade Middle School Girls Volleyball Coach. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing student-athletes both on and off the court by teaching volleyball fundamentals, promoting teamwork and sportsmanship, and fostering a positive and competitive athletic environment that supports academic success.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Previous coaching experience in volleyball is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of volleyball fundamentals, skill development, game strategy, and athlete development.
  • Ability to organize and conduct effective practices and competitions.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with middle school student-athletes, parents, staff, and administration.
  • Must meet all Monroe Public Schools and Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) requirements for coaching eligibility.

Preferred Skills and Attributes:

  • Ability to teach and develop individual and team skills appropriate to the middle school level.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate student-athletes and promote a positive team culture.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of sportsmanship, professionalism, and ethical conduct.
  • Willingness to support and encourage academic achievement among student-athletes.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with athletes, families, officials, and community members.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with administrators, teachers, coaches, and support staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, and supervise all team practices, contests, and related activities.
  • Teach volleyball fundamentals, game strategies, and proper conditioning techniques.
  • Promote good sportsmanship, teamwork, responsibility, and respect among student-athletes.
  • Monitor and support the academic progress and eligibility of team members.
  • Maintain open and professional communication with players, parents, staff, and administration.
  • Ensure compliance with all District policies, athletic department expectations, and MHSAA regulations.
  • Assist in the care, inventory, and maintenance of equipment and facilities.
  • Serve as a positive role model for student-athletes and represent Monroe Public Schools in a professional manner at all times.

Compensation:

Compensation will be in accordance with the applicable Master Agreement and athletic stipend schedule.
