PlainsCapital Bank is currently looking to hire a Lending Assistant to work at our Preston Center location in Dallas, Texas. ย The Lending Assistant provides administrative and operational support to Loan Officers in a highly engaged, client-focused environment. This role requires working knowledge of lending procedures and systems and is responsible for servicing clients professionally while managing loan-related activities and documentation. The Lending Assistant facilitates monetary transactions and assists clients with both loan and deposit-related matters.

  • High school diploma, general education degree (GED) or equivalent required
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in related field of expertise. Familiarity with loan documentation a plus.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent PC skills, including word processing and spreadsheets via Microsoft Office products as well as custom applications and system.
  • Excellent analytical, time management, organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to multi-task and work in a deadline-driven environment.

  • Provide administrative support for Loan Officers and/or lending teams:
    • Generate reports and monitor activity within assigned loan portfolios.
    • Review exception reports and resolve exceptions promptly.
    • Assist with daily overdraft/NSF decisions.
    • Review past due reports and assist with client notifications when appropriate.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate customer loan files and correspondence.
  • Facilitate client transactions and account maintenance requests (e.g., payments, wire transfers, deposits, address changes); coordinate with Retail Banking and other departments as needed.
  • Assist clients with account inquiries and basic loan documentation questions.
  • Coordinate with Loan Officers, borrowers, and Loan Operations to ensure loan files are complete and accurate; collect required documentation and resolve deficiencies.
  • Provide financial documentation (e.g., tax returns, cash flow statements) to Credit Analysts during underwriting; request borrower documentation as needed.
  • Review inspection reports and coordinate with Loan Operations and Loan Officers to ensure inspections are scheduled and completed.
  • Perform general office support duties including receptionist relief, notarizing documents, ordering supplies, and document handling (fax/copy/scan).
  • Greet clients, assess their needs, and assist or direct them appropriately.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
