Sr. Tax Analyst - Corporate Income Tax
We're looking for a hands-on Senior Tax Analyst with experience in corporate income tax, multi-state tax compliance, and income tax provision support. Working closely with our external accounting firm, you'll prepare tax workpapers, reconcile book-to-tax differences, support federal and state tax filings, assist with income tax provisions, and help ensure accurate and timely tax reporting.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Prepare and maintain tax workpapers supporting federal and multi-state income tax filings, income tax provisions, and related reporting while partnering closely with our external accounting firm.
- Identifies issues, applies independent judgment and provides insights through clear, concise review notes.
- Assists in the preparation of workpapers for the ASC 740 calculations, related disclosures for the federal, state, and local income tax area including footnote disclosures, including maintaining the inventory of deferred tax assets and liabilities.
- Assists in the preparation/review of reporting for income taxes including the quarterly US GAAP tax provision.
- Performs recurring and special projects.
- Participates in the research, analysis and documentation of tax planning initiatives. Remain current in legislative and tax policy initiatives that have a significant impact on the company.
- Identifies, analyzes and researches tax law as applied to federal and state income/franchise tax returns filings and/or business transactions
- All other duties as assigned
JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field
- 2-4 years Progressive tax experience in a multi-state environment with emphasis on tax compliance and research.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred
- Willingness to work as a team and independently.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
ADDITIONAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience in partnership taxation
- Experience utilizing tax compliance software
- Strong problem solving, analytics, and communication skills
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office - specifically with Excel
- Strong attention to detail
- Experience in the telecom industry and with Oracle is preferred
