Legal Project & Operations Administrator (Contract-to-Hire)
Schaumburg, IL (Hybrid/Onsite)
$60,000-$65,000 (Conversion Salary)
About the Opportunity
A global organization is seeking a Legal Project & Operations Administrator to join its Legal Department on a contract-to-hire basis. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in legal operations, risk management, and compliance, with the potential to convert to a full-time position based on performance and business needs.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support insurance claims administration, including auto, workers' compensation, and cargo claims
  • Track claims, follow up on status, and coordinate documentation with internal teams and external insurers
  • Maintain accurate records of claims, correspondence, and legal documentation
  • Review and process invoices and billing statements related to insurance and legal expenses
  • Assist with budget tracking and reporting
  • Provide administrative support to the Legal team (document prep, filing, scheduling)
  • Organize and maintain legal files, case records, and compliance materials
  • Coordinate communication with internal stakeholders, outside counsel, and regulatory bodies
  • Handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Legal Studies, Risk Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 1-3 years of experience in legal, compliance, or risk support roles
  • Familiarity with legal and/or insurance terminology
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
Work Environment
  • Primarily office-based with occasional exposure to operational/manufacturing environments
  • Standard physical requirements (sitting, computer use, light movement as needed)
