Job description

Coordinator - Legal Compliance

Position Summary: Working closely with the Compliance Manager, the Compliance Coordinator supports the daily operations of the Company's Ethics & Compliance program. This role focuses on the intake, analysis, and reporting of ethics concerns, the oversight of third-party due diligence reviews, and assisting with the continuous monitoring of regulatory developments and responses to internal and external audits. You will also be tasked with ensuring the timely review and distribution of corporate policies-such as the Code of Ethics, Gifts & Entertainment, and Workplace Culture standards-while reinforcing these values through the administration of AEO's global compliance training program.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in overseeing AEO's Ethics and Compliance Hotline; including the tracking, routing, and monitoring of all reports (hotline and non-hotline) from intake through resolution; and the development of hotline metrics and dashboards.
  • Support managing the enterprise-wide Third-Party Risk Management program vetting potential vendors, including system and process enhancements; work closely with Procurement and relationship owners on vendor onboarding; and continually seek innovative ways to integrate with the overall vendor life cycle.
  • Assist in overseeing AEO's policy governance framework, including maintaining and updating AEO's Code of Ethics and coordinating policy updates and content changes with internal stakeholders.
  • Handle day-to-day responsibilities for compliance training initiatives, including the development, distribution, and tracking of compliance training, including policies such as Code of Ethics, Anti-Corruption, Gifts & Entertainment, etc.
  • Working with other cross-functional departments such as Human Resources, Asset Protection, Store Operations, Internal Audit, etc. to support various compliance-related projects, tracking of regulatory developments, audits, risk assessments, and initiatives.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education, Experience & Skills

  • 1-3 years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Required proficiency with Microsoft Office & Google products with preferred advanced skills in MS Excel and Google Sheets
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with a high proficiency in prioritization, organization, and attention to detail
  • Skilled in delivering succinct, business-friendly verbal and written communication
  • Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and engage in different substantive aspects of the business everyday
  • Using good judgement and discretion when dealing with sensitive situations and confidential informationย 
  • Must be willing to work in Pittsburgh office 1-2 days per week

  • Actual starting pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to relevant experience and location.
