Billing Manager - Denver, CO (Hybrid, in-office)

Salary: $110-125K, based on experience

We are seeking a Billing Manager to lead a billing department and oversee the full invoicing lifecycle in a high-volume law firm environment. This role is central to the firm's financial health and requires a detail-oriented leader with deep legal billing expertise and the ability to collaborate effectively with attorneys and firm leadership.


Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of billing professionals, overseeing daily workflow, performance, and development
  • Review prebills through final invoice issuance, ensuring accuracy and compliance with client engagement letters and outside counsel guidelines
  • Partner with firm leadership and attorneys to resolve billing disputes and support revenue cycle goals
  • Oversee electronic billing submissions and troubleshoot rejections across client platforms
  • Assist with complex billing arrangements including contingency, flat fee, and alternative fee agreements (AFAs)
  • Coordinate with collections and accounting teams to support timely cash receipts

Requirements

  • 5+ years of billing experience in a law firm environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role
  • Proficiency in legal billing software required; experience with Aderant, Elite 3E / Thomson Reuters 3E, Tabs3, ProLaw, or BillBlast preferred
  • Strong knowledge of outside counsel guidelines and client billing compliance
  • Experience managing eBilling submissions across multiple client portals (Collaborati, TyMetrix 360, Legal Tracker)
