Read on to find out more about the role and how to apply.The focus of the position will be to leverage water management and wastewater treatment (WWT) operational experience and environmental compliance experience to develop and implement short-to-mid-range business objectives and strategic sales plans in coordination with the UCC Environmental Sales and Marketing Management Teams. Primary responsibilities will include technically and strategically directing the territory for all water sales initiatives as associated with being compliant to local governing authority discharge limits, meeting US EPA requirements and any other potential need an end user may have that would require new water systems. The role will also include training and development, customer relationship development/ management, opportunity identification, proposal development, technical sales presentations, and post-bid negotiations for systems sales.Additionally, the position functions as technical collaboration role in conjunction with other internal resources focused on the water initiatives at the same customer site locations as defined within the territory. It will also work with the UCC R&D personnel and contract systems engineering based in Waukegan, responsible for input on system sizing, component technology and vendor selection, materials of construction selection, and general industry best practices.The District Engineer must combine strong technical knowledge with capabilities in Customer Relationship Management.The ideal candidate will have demonstrated capabilities in collaborating with others to perform engineering tasks within a team environment. Work experience with a privately held company will be beneficial.Primary Duties and Responsibilities:Demonstrate UCC Environmental core values;Develop monthly, quarterly, and annual sales strategy and tactical plans for Water Management and WWT sales for the domestic Utility coal-fired power plant market, with particular emphasis on CCR/ELG compliance initiatives: as well as other heavy industrial markets that includes but is not limited to Mining, Cement, Pulp & Paper, Chemical, etc. Achieve annual sales volume targets;Develop the Annual and a 5-Year Business Plan for the district that includes all water management, material handling, dry sorbent injection as well as aftermarket parts sales opportunities, including anticipated sales outlook;Build and maintain market expertise through market research and competitive analysis, networking with key customers, suppliers and partners;Drive sales strategies and programs to strengthen current and potential market penetration and customer satisfaction.Develop business plans and collaborate with UCC Environmental personnel to define and drive action that maximizes Customer satisfactionProactively work cross functionally with other UCC Environmental support functions to effectively meet sales goals;Have, or able to gain, knowledge of EPA rules that are market drivers for water and wastewater treatment opportunities.This includes but is not limited to: Coal Combustion Residuals (CCR), Effluent Limitation Guidelines (ELG), Mine Tailings and National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) regulations that may drive the potential customer base to plan new project activities.Significant travel is required โ€“ 100 to 140 customer calls per year are expectedCustomers would include Plant sites, Corporate Offices, Engineering Firms, and other Strategic Partners within the Territory;All other duties as assigned.Education and Experience:Bachelor of Science in Engineering (mechanical, chemical, civil or environmental) is required, and a postgraduate degree in a relevant discipline is preferred.
