As the Leasing Agent, you will be a key player in our apartment community, reporting to the General Manager. You will handle all aspects of leasing and marketing while ensuring positive resident relations. Your role includes managing apartment rentals, overseeing move-ins and lease renewals, generating and handling leads, qualifying prospects, preparing lease documentation, and completing move-in procedures according to company policies.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the General Manager, here's what you'll be doing!

  • Greet prospective residents, conduct community tours, and effectively communicate property features, amenities, and benefits to support leasing goals.
  • Respond to phone calls, emails, and in-person inquiries from prospective and current residents in a professional and timely manner.
  • Process rental applications, secure deposits, and prepare lease agreements in compliance with company policies and Fair Housing regulations.
  • Coordinate move-in and move-out processes, ensuring apartments are ready and residents receive a positive onboarding experience.
  • Maintain accurate leasing records, guest cards, reports, lease files, and commission tracking documentation.
  • Support lease renewal efforts by distributing renewal notices and following up with residents to encourage retention.
  • Assist with marketing and outreach initiatives, including community events, advertising efforts, and local outreach activities to generate leads and increase occupancy.
  • Monitor local market conditions, competitor pricing, and industry trends to support leasing and resident satisfaction strategies.
  • Participate in weekly leasing meetings and provide updates on traffic, leasing activity, and market insights.
  • Coordinate resident service requests with the maintenance team and conduct follow-up to ensure resident satisfaction.
  • Contribute to the cleanliness, curb appeal, and overall presentation of the leasing office, model units, and community spaces.
  • Build positive relationships with residents and assist in resolving concerns or inquiries in a professional and customer-focused manner.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, Fair Housing standards, and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Support community operations and team initiatives while maintaining a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent, preferred. In lieu of degree, equivalent experience in residential properties, rental operations or related expereince
  • Relevant experience working at a property, even better at a university/college
  • Property management software, RealPage, Entrata or like systems
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to build and maintain quality relationships
  • Strong customer service skills, ability to manage difficult or emotional customer and staff situations, responds promptly to customer needs and quickly responds to resident requests
  • Carbon Literacy Certification or willingness to undertake training
