Position Overview:
Being an Account Executive at Lightspeed Technologies is more than just about making sales. It's about making a difference in the lives of teachers and students. This is an outside sales position covering North Texas and Oklahoma.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Develop and increase sales revenue to meet assigned targets. This will include handling incoming sales calls, explaining the valued outcomes of Lightspeed solutions to new prospects, primarily within education. These activities will include providing presentations, preparing quotes, prospecting, cold calling, prompt follow-up with contacts and referrals, and other general sales duties.
  • Inside office duties will include virtual prospecting via email, phone calls, and other marketing methods, along with virtual presentations via video conferencing. Outside office duties will include sales calls and presentations, participation in trade shows, and teacher trainings to ensure the effective utilization of Lightspeed instructional audio technology.
  • Build a network of quality relationships with influencers and top-level decision-makers within the educational community throughout the territory.
  • Stay apprised and active in current and future bond projects that could impact the funding of technology for school districts. This will include both new construction and renovation projects, along with technology-specific bonds.
  • Learn and maintain technical knowledge of products to clearly answer client questions around the functionality of the technology solutions.
  • Learn and stay apprised of the most current and applicable instructional pedagogical practices in education to be able to competently communicate with school district curriculum & instruction leadership and relate them to Lightspeed solutions.
  • Providing technical assistance and support calls for existing Lightspeed clients.

Position Must-Haves:
  • Ability to travel across the territory regularly, and to other states occasionally.
  • Proficiency with relational selling and the Challenger Sales methodology.
  • Commitment to growing sales while adhering to Lightspeed's Core Values.
  • Demonstrated ability to build a network of influencers and key decision-makers within the K-12 market in their territory.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate a solutions-based message effectively, compellingly, and succinctly in both conversational and presentation formats, along with an ability to tailor this message based on your audience.
  • Demonstrated ability to converse, prospect, and present in both in-person and virtual formats.
  • Demonstrated ability to create a territory plan that meets or exceeds yearly sales plan.
  • Knowledge and demonstrated fluency in classroom instructional technologies.
  • Proficient with MS Office, Outlook, Salesforce, Concur, Zoom, and other software solutions implemented by Lightspeed's sales team.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3+ years outside sales, experience with K-12 education sales.
  • Experience using a CRM such as Salesforce.
  • Valid Driver's License, clean driving record.
