The Assistant General Manager contribute to the hotel's commitment to high quality guest service and teamwork and must be the kind of person who appreciates high standards of excellence. This position is directly responsible for the success of the housekeeping, front office and food and beverage departments of the property.A hands-on approach is necessary to effectively manage the quality of customer service and guest suite cleanliness.


This position will report directly to the General Manager of the hotel. The responsibilities also include managing the daily hotel operations to achieve planned goals for operational integrity as measured by revenue, house profit, and RevPAR index while maintaining company standards for guest satisfaction, associate satisfaction, quality assurance, and asset protection. This position may also handle the purchasing and payroll submission for the property.


This position will also be involved in the interviewing and hiring of new associates, as well as disciplinary measures. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of three years of management experience as well as the ability to demonstrate leadership and professional image to associates and guests. Must be able to work a flexible work schedule as the hours for this management position will vary.

Qualifications


· Minimum of three years of management and supervisory experience preferred (management experience in the service industry is strongly preferred)


· Hotel experience preferred


· 1-2+ years experience working in a guest service oriented Food & Beverage establishment preferred


· Intermediate word and excel required


· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.


· Strong organizational, project management and detail orientation skills, with the ability to multi-task in order to meet a variety of deadlines


· Strong interpersonal skills and a can-do positive attitude


· Bilingual in Spanish a plus


· Ability to work with minimal supervision required


Qualifications

Essential Job Functions:


· Responsible for directing and overseeing the operations manager, chief engineer and F&B leaders .


· Work with Revenue Director to accurately forecasts occupancy as well as revenue.


· Work with Revenue Director to manage guest room inventory


· Communicate and work well with the Sales department on group inquiries and lead weekly resume meeting.


· Oversee the interview process, along with providing support for coaching and counseling of department managers and their staff as needed.


· Ensure that all departments are fully informed and able to meet specific guest requirements.


· Attend leadership meetings.


· Responsible for developing and managing food and beverage activations.


· Responsible for monthly inventory and ordering.


· Handle all guest concerns in a polite and professional manner.


· Works with operations leadership to drive service and cleanliness scores.


· Acts as the General Manager in their absence.


· Able to learn and maintain the hotel PMS and POS.


· Prepare an accurate Assistant General Managers Re-cap on a monthly basis.


· Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary.


· Must have the ability to assimilate complex information and data from disparate sources and consider, adjust, or modify to meet the constraints of such needs.


· Must have the ability to listen and clarifying concerns and issues expressed by co-workers and guests in order to best understand their respective needs.


· Must be able to evaluate and select among alternate courses of actions quickly and accurately.


· Responsible for overseeing the entire staffing process for all positions in the department and following the hiring standards set.


· Ensure that the training of all new hires is thorough and complete.


· Conduct employee evaluations in a timely manner


· Demonstrate the ability to forecast and analyze budget figures.


· Motivate staff members and encourages participation.
