Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited institution as approved and accepted by the University of South Alabama and one year of directly related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience providing professional development, mentorship, or technical assistance to educators, program directors, or community stakeholders is highly preferred.
Job Description Summary
The University of South Alabama's College of Education and Professional Studies is seeking to hire three Regional Program Specialist, 21st Century Community Learning Centers (CCLC). Interested candidates should apply to be considered.
Essential Functions
These are the job duties required of the position.
Essential Functions
  • The Regional Program Specialist, 21st Century Community Learning Centers (CCLC) will be assigned to a specific region of the state (South, Northeast, and Northwest).
  • Works collaboratively with contracted Technical Assistants from the Alabama State Department of Education (ALSDE) to provide targeted program support, technical assistance, professional development and/or mentorship to assigned regional subgrantees.
  • Schedules and conducts monthly meetings with assigned subgrantees to discuss grant expectations and upcoming due dates.
  • Provides technical assistance and/or coaching for assigned subgrantees.
  • Independently diagnoses and solves localized site issues as they arise.
  • Assists ALSDE with compliance reviews.
  • Assists subgrantees with report preparation, as requested.
  • Regular and prompt attendance.
  • Ability to work schedule as defined and additional hours as required.
  • Related duties as required.
