Job description

The Lead Specialist, Solutioning or our Product Solutions Consultant for Live Training serves as the subject matter expert and solution architect for instructor-led, virtual instructor-led, cohort-based, and blended learning solutions. This role partners closely with Sales, Client Partners, Product Management, Training Operations, Customer Success, and Delivery teams to design scalable learning solutions that address workforce transformation, technical skills development, leadership development, certification readiness, and business performance outcomes.

The ideal candidate combines strong consultative skills with a deep understanding of learning products, training delivery models, and enterprise workforce development challenges. They will play a key role in positioning, packaging, and operationalizing live training offerings across Pearson's enterprise portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Serve as the primary solutioning lead for live training opportunities across enterprise clients.

  2. Conduct discovery sessions to identify business objectives, workforce challenges, learner audiences, and success metrics.

  3. Translate customer requirements into scalable live training solutions, learning journeys, and implementation approaches.

  4. Partner with Client Partners and Sales teams during opportunity qualification, proposal development, and executive presentations.

  5. Demonstrate the value of live training within larger workforce transformation and skills development programs.

  6. Develop tailored recommendations that balance customer outcomes, delivery feasibility, and commercial objectives.

Product Expertise & Portfolio Development
  1. Maintain expert knowledge of Pearson's instructor-led training, virtual delivery, certification programs, coaching offerings, skills assessments, and workforce solutions.

  2. Act as a subject matter expert for live training products and learning pathways.

  3. Collaborate with Product Management to identify market opportunities, customer needs, and portfolio enhancements.

  4. Support the development of repeatable solution bundles and go-to-market offerings.

  5. Contribute to sales enablement assets, playbooks, proposal templates, and client-facing collateral.

Live Training Strategy & Operations Alignment
  1. Partner with Training Operations to ensure solution designs can be successfully delivered at scale.

  2. Collaborate on instructor requirements, scheduling considerations, capacity planning, and delivery readiness.

  3. Evaluate emerging technologies and platforms that improve learner experience, instructor effectiveness, and operational efficiency.

  4. Help establish best practices for virtual classrooms, instructor management, scheduling, registration, reporting, and learner engagement.

Proposal & Commercial Support
  1. Lead solution definition efforts for Statements of Work (SOWs), proposals, and pricing discussions.

  2. Support deal qualification and opportunity strategy sessions.

  3. Create executive-ready presentations, solution overviews, and implementation recommendations.

  4. Partner with Finance, Legal, and Delivery teams to ensure commercial and operational alignment.

Cross-Functional Leadership
  1. Work closely with Product, Marketing, Delivery, Customer Success, and Operations teams to ensure seamless customer experiences.

  2. Provide internal training and enablement on live training offerings.

  3. Share customer insights and market trends to influence future product strategy.

  4. Support innovation initiatives involving AI-enabled learning, skills intelligence, workforce readiness, and blended learning experiences.

Required Qualifications
  1. Bachelor’s degree in education, Business, Human Resources, Learning & Development, or related field.

  2. 5+ years of experience in learning solutions, training services, enterprise education, consulting, solution architecture, or workforce development.

  3. Experience designing and positioning instructor-led and virtual instructor-led training solutions.

  4. Strong consultative selling and discovery skills

  5. Experience supporting enterprise customers and complex sales cycles

  6. Excellent written, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

  7. Ability to translate business challenges into measurable learning outcomes.

Preferred Qualifications
  1. Experience supporting corporate learning, talent development, workforce transformation, or technical training programs.

  2. Knowledge of learning technologies, LMS platforms, virtual classroom platforms, credentialing solutions, and skills assessment tools

  3. Familiarity with AI-enabled learning solutions and workforce intelligence platforms.

  4. Experience creating SOWs, proposals, and executive presentations.

  5. Background working within professional training, certification, or enterprise learning organizations

Success Measures

The Lead Specialist, Solutioning will be evaluated based on:

Compensation at Pearson is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location. As required by the California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York State, New York City, Vermont, Washington State, and Washington DC laws, the pay range for this position is as follows:

Minimum full-time salary range is between $110,000 to $140,000.
