Learning & Development Specialist (Recruitment/Sales) - Phoenix (Hybrid)



*The ideal candidate for this role will have experience either as a 360 Recruiter themselves looking to move into L&D or experience within L&D in a recruitment agency.


Harnham is the global leader in Data & AI recruitment. As part of our continued growth across the US, we are looking to hire a Learning & Development Consultant to deliver high-impact recruitment training for our West & East Coast teams.


As the US Learning & Development Consultant, you will be responsible for delivering structured recruitment training programmes to new starters and experienced hires across the US. You will work closely with managers and leadership to ensure learning translates into consistent behaviors, quality activity, and commercial results.


The role is based in Phoenix, with regular travel to New York, delivering face-to-face training in Phoenix and a blend of face to face and virtual training for New York There may also be opportunities to co-deliver or support global training initiatives when required.


Core Responsibilities

  • Deliver and continuously evolve the New Starter Academy programme for US consultants, aligned with the UK training model.
  • Deliver structured training for Recruitment Consultants (360) and Resourcers (180), with a focus on sourcing and candidate management in months 1–3, and business development in months 4–6 for 360 consultants.
  • Design and deliver a tailored onboarding and development experience for experienced hires, aligned to their level and prior experience.
  • Deliver face-to-face training sessions in Phoenix and F2F and virtual training for New York-based consultants.
  • Conduct call shadowing sessions to assess quality of candidate and client calls, providing clear, constructive feedback aligned to training standards.
  • Deliver 1:1 desk coaching sessions to assess organization, pace, quality of activity, and embedding of learning into day-to-day behaviors.
  • Provide refresher training, coaching, and ongoing development support to existing recruiters at all levels across the US business.
  • Deliver systems training including Bullhorn, LinkedIn Recruiter, and other recruitment tools used within the business.
  • Work closely with Managers and Directors to identify development needs, track progress, and ensure accountability for learning application.
  • Create and maintain practical training materials, tools, and resources to support learning transfer and consistency.
  • Support ad hoc projects related to learning, capability building, and continuous improvement as required.


Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven track record as a successful recruiter, ideally within Data, Analytics, or Technology recruitment.
  • Strong experience across the full recruitment lifecycle including sourcing, candidate management, working roles, and business development.
  • Experience delivering recruitment sales training or training within a recruitment environment.
  • Confidence delivering engaging training sessions both face-to-face and virtually.
  • Experience coaching and giving feedback to consultants at desk level and providing feedback on live activity and calls.
  • Ability to challenge respectfully, hold high standards, and hold individuals accountable for applying learning.
  • Excellent communication skills with the credibility to influence and coach at all levels.
  • High energy, passion for learning and development, and a practical, hands-on approach.
