As a learning strategist, your job is to help develop and improve learning solutions for students within a school system. This job comes in two primary forms. The first type of learning strategist focuses on the broader curriculum of a school or a district. Your job may involve using an assessment process to evaluate teachers, helping plan new learning strategies, and addressing any unique needs or factors. The second category of learning strategists focuses on special education classrooms and children with various disabilities. In these cases, learning strategists support teachers by studying the needs of each child and helping obtain whatever they need to succeed in the classroom.

Additional Duties:
ยOversee the assessment of all kindergarten students at your site within the first 30 days of the school year using the Brigance Screener III and MAP (optional) assessments
Oversee the assessment of all students in Reading for grades 1-3 using the MAP assessments
Monitor the development of progress monitoring plans for every student identified as "deficient" in reading
Systematically monitor the progress of students identified as "deficient" in reading
Oversee the assessment of all identified students during winter and spring benchmarks
Ensure that parents and/or legal guardians are notified within 30 days of the determination that a K-3 studentย is struggling in the subject area of reading
Ensure that parents and/or legal guardians approve of progress monitoring plans for struggling students
Provide instruction and support for the parents and guardians of pupils who have been identified as struggling in the subject area of reading.
Provides leadership and support to the board of trustees of Mineral County School District in preparing a plan to improve the literacy of pupils enrolled in K-3
Facilitate and/or deliver the professional learning topics required for RBG3 K-4 classroom teachers
Participate in all required professional development areas that have been identified in the Nevada Administrative Code, Chapter 388
