Job description

The Director of Organizational Development & Learning (OD&L) provides strategic leadership for enterprise-wide learning, leadership development and organizational effectiveness initiatives across Tamarack Health. This role partners with senior leaders, clinical and operational leadership and Human Resources to strengthen culture, build leadership capability and support high-quality, patient-centered care in a highly regulated and community-focused environment.
Job Duties:
Strategic & Hands-On Leadership
  • Lead the OD&L strategy aligned with Tamarack Health's mission and priorities.
  • Advise senior leaders on culture, engagement, leadership effectiveness and change.
  • Manage and develop a multidisciplinary OD&L team, budgets, learning technologies and vendors.

Organizational Development & Change
  • Support organizational design, role clarity and workforce planning.
  • Partner with HR on engagement and culture insights, turning data into action.
  • Embed change management practices and lead initiatives that strengthen communication and collaboration.

Learning & Leadership Development
  • Oversee leadership development for senior, departmental, clinical and emerging leaders.
  • Equip new leaders with practical coaching and performance management tools.
  • Ensure learning programs meet regulatory, accreditation and patient safety requirements.
  • Deliver blended learning solutions across in-person, virtual and digital formats.

Clinical & Community Partnership
  • Collaborate with HR, Nursing, Medical Staff and Quality to advance clinical excellence and patient safety.
  • Support interdisciplinary teamwork, onboarding competency and continuous learning.
  • Align leadership and learning initiatives with Tamarack Health's community mission.

Measurement & Continuous Improvement
  • Establish metrics for engagement, leadership readiness and learning effectiveness.
  • Use data to inform strategy and demonstrate ROI.
  • Continuously refine programs based on outcomes, feedback and evolving healthcare needs.

Education/Experience:
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development, Healthcare Administration or related field
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in organizational development, learning or talent management
  • 5+ years direct leadership experience overseeing staff and programs
  • Experience working in healthcare industry with clinical leaders, physicians and interdisciplinary teams
  • Strong facilitation, coaching and change management skills
  • Proven success leading large-scale change initiatives
  • Experience with learning management systems

Preferred:
  • Master's degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development, Healthcare Administration or related field
  • Certification in change management, executive coaching or leadership development
  • Familiarity with accreditation, regulatory and compliance requirements (e.g., Joint Commission, CMS, DNV)
