Job description

The Strategic Project Development Manager (SPDM) is a senior sales role responsible for driving the pursuit, development, and execution planning of complex capital projects across North America. This position is accountable for interfacing directly with key clients, overseeing large-scale opportunity tracking, leading cross-functional estimating teams, and delivering final proposals and execution strategies that position the company for successful project delivery. The role serves as a strategic bridge between business development, estimating, and operations, ensuring alignment across the entire project lifecycle. 

Compensation for this position will be commensurate with your education or work experience. 

What You'll Be Doing

  • Creates pricing strategies and proposals tailored to capturing maximum market share on the largest projects in North America.
  • Serves as executive point of contact for clients during all pre-award phases, including early design, value engineering, and proposal negotiation.
  • Acts as the post-award executive sponsor, ensuring alignment between the client and operations teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provides clients with regular performance updates and KPI dashboards aligned to project success metrics, while maintaining executive visibility through senior leadership reporting.
  • Oversees pursuit intelligence gathering, competitor benchmarking, and win strategy development. 

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, engineering, or related field (MBA preferred), or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in strategic sales, business development, or project management.
  • Proven success in managing complex sales initiatives and strategic accounts.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems, project management tools, and data analysis platforms.
