Job description

Legal Research Assistant | Hybrid

$60,000–$65,000

3L Search Partners is partnering with a well-established consulting firm recognized for its expert-witness work in product liability litigation. They are seeking a Legal Research Assistant who enjoys digging into complex case materials, organizing the details, and helping prepare matters for depositions and trial.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with 2–5 years of litigation-related experience who wants to apply their legal research and case-preparation skills outside a traditional law firm environment.

In this role, you will serve as a key support professional across multiple active litigation matters while managing competing priorities and meeting client and court deadlines.

What You'll Do

  • Review discovery materials, including pleadings, police reports, deposition transcripts, expert reports, and supporting records.
  • Prepare clear, comprehensive case summaries using established formats.
  • Analyze deposition transcripts and use specialized software to classify and annotate relevant testimony.
  • Conduct targeted literature searches using internal resources, external libraries, online databases, and other electronic sources.
  • Summarize research findings with accurate citations and complete reference lists.
  • Prepare initial drafts of case-related reports with limited direction.
  • Support document organization, deposition preparation, and broader trial-preparation efforts.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.

What We're Looking For

  • 2–5 years of experience in litigation support, legal research, paralegal work, or a related setting.
  • Strong reading comprehension, analytical, and writing skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational ability.
  • Confidence working with large volumes of complex information.
  • The ability to prioritize assignments and perform well in a fast-paced environment.
  • A dependable, hardworking, and collaborative approach.

Compensation and Schedule

  • Salary range: $60,000–$65,000, based on experience.
  • Hybrid schedule with three days per week in the office after 90 days

If you enjoy digging into the details of a case and want to use your litigation experience outside the traditional law firm setting, we'd love to connect. Send us a message to learn more or let's find a time to talk
