Job description

The Legal Assistant will play a key role in supporting legal and administrative functions, ensuring seamless operations and assisting with a variety of tasks within a major global publishing company. A candidate should bring 2+ years of experience in legal administration and corporate governance. Client Details This role is with a major global academic, educational and professional publisher. Headquartered internationally, they own some of the most well known brands in their sector. This role is hybrid 2 days in office out of their Midtown location. Description Provide administrative support to the legal team, including managing schedules and correspondence. Manage corporate secretarial functions for U.S. entities, including maintaining corporate books and records, preparing minutes and consents, officers' certificates, managing notarization, and coordinating required state filings with local, state, and federal agencies and outside counsel. Prepare, review, and organize legal documents and contracts. Assist with KYC due diligence, including identity verification, beneficial ownership review, and responses to other informational and compliance-related requests. Conduct legal research and summarize findings for internal use. Coordinate with internal departments and external stakeholders on legal matters. Maintain an organized filing system for legal documents and records. Assist in drafting and proofreading legal correspondence. Ensure compliance with applicable legal standards and regulations. Handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism. Profile A successful Legal Assistant should have: 2+ years of previous corporate paralegal or high-touch legal administrative support. Experience within a global organization strongly preferred. Corporate governance or regulatory compliance experience is required. Strong organizational and multitasking skills to manage various legal and administrative tasks. Attention to detail for reviewing and preparing legal documents. Ability to work effectively under deadlines and handle confidential information.
