LeadCar Systems, Inc. is seeking a motivated Legal Assistant to join our team in making a meaningful impact to LeadCar® brands and affiliate locations through high-quality legal work. Our ideal candidate will also be available full-time during the summer and part-time the remainder of the year. This position will primarily work onsite at the office, however there is an option for occasional remote work, if desired after a training period is completed.

Who We Are: LeadCar Systems, Inc. provides a wide range of administrative services and specialized solutions to various other businesses, including private capital, automotive retail, fixed base operator, and real estate companies. Our office is located in Prairie du Sac- about 20 minutes outside of Middleton and Madison, WI (right off of Highway 12).

About the Job:

The Legal Assistant provides essential administrative and clerical support to both the Chief Legal Officer and Associate Director of Insurance & Administrative Operations, utilizing their skills in organization, detail-orientation, prioritization, and professionalism to ensure the efficient day-to-day operation of the legal office. In this position, you’ll review and maintain legal documents, provide project-related support, and assist with schedule management.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Administer vendor contract processing, including communications, obtaining electronic signatures and assisting Chief Legal Officer with contract review and negotiation.
  • Utilize strong writing skills to draft documents and letters from templates and with assistance from Chief Legal Officer.
  • Manage legal documentation and correspondence in strict confidence.
  • Maintain corporate record books and minute books.
  • Follow administrative processes for efficient workflow.
  • Coordinate meetings, including all correspondence and logistics.
  • Building relationships in a fast-paced office environment.

What You Need to Succeed:

Preferred Education & Experience:

  • Working to obtain a Law Degree and/or Paralegal Degree, Certificate and/or experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field OR working to obtain a Bachelor’s Degree in related field
  • Prior experience in any field of law is preferred, but not required
  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience may be considered in lieu of the preferred criteria above.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Clear, precise and compelling writing skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Windows-based software applications, including Word and Outlook.
  • Detail oriented and committed to accuracy.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent problem solving capabilities and organizational skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple assignments at one time.
  • Ability to work under general direction.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in a fast-paced environment.
