Job description

King David Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation is looking for a Memory Lane Coordinator to join the team at our Skilled Nursing Facility in Brooklyn, NY!

The Allure Group is a consortium of six rehabilitation centers across Brooklyn and Manhattan, NY, specializing in post-acute and sub-acute skilled nursing and rehabilitation. We pride ourselves in providing a high standard of care for patients of all ages and conditions while upholding an environment of kindness, dignity, and respect for employees and residents. As a Memory Lane Coordinator at The Allure Group, you would be part of a winning team doing meaningful work to improve residents' quality of life, health, and comfort.

Memory Lane Coordinator Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the activity programs for the dementia unit
  • Create a monthly and daily recreation calendar and schedule for the unit
  • Make residents aware of activity options, encourage participation and the pursuit of leisure interests
  • Understand the special needs of memory-impaired residents and provide support and assistance
  • Perform administrative requirements, such as completing necessary forms, reports, etc., and submitting such to the Director of Recreation as required
  • Observe and record resident attendance, mood, behavior, and degree of involvement in activities, so that facility activities and residents' progress are evaluated, by noting, reporting, and charting resident behavior
  • Perform other duties as deemed necessary and appropriate, or as indicated by the Director of Recreation
  • Arrange and attend Dementia education classes and training for staff
  • Manage Dementia support groups and education classes for family members

Memory Lane Coordinator Requirements

  • High school diploma or its equivalent
  • Previous experience with the senior population
  • COVID-19 Vaccination

  • Bilingual
