Job description

Overview
As a Landscaping Assistant you are responsible for the appearance and care of the landscaping and grounds on the park. You will receive some great benefits as perks while working in a great environment at Gatlinburg Skypark
Responsibilities
The Landscaping Assistant's typical job functions include:
  • Planting and tending to flowerbeds and other vegetation, may assist with watering and fertilizing of flower beds and potted plants
  • Performing pest control, weeding and dead-heading in flower beds
  • Assisting with grounds preparation and support of special events that take place at the resort
  • Ensuring all parking areas, walkways and drives are clean and free of debris on a daily basis, including grass clippings, leaves and sand
  • Assisting in the future annual flower bed layouts and design
  • Other tasks to be assigned by Ground Maintenance Manager

Qualifications
This position might be for you if:
  • You are at least 18 years old; achieved a high school diploma or completed a GED
  • You have knowledge of general grounds maintenance techniques
  • You have a valid driver's license
  • You enjoy working outdoors in any weather conditions
  • You possess excellent organization and communication skills
  • You are responsible, flexible, dedicated, and dependable person; neat and tidy in appearance and reliable, positive in attitude a must
  • You are flexible in scheduling to meet seasonal staffing requirements; this position may include weekend and holiday shifts in addition to regular shifts
  • Ability to lift forty pounds occasional lifting to eighty pounds
  • You prefer a physical job that includes occasionally lifting of over 50 pounds
  • You are able to stoop, bend, kneel, climb, and remain standing on feet for lengthy periods of time
  • You are able to safely operate small landscape machinery, e.g. backpack blower, hedge pruners, etc.
