Job description

The Creative Assistant - Videography serves as the video lead and support for a variety of projects for the Office of Student Life, which includes five unique teams: Residence Life, Housing, Commuter Life, Graduate Life, and Online Life. The Creative Team of Student Life has the privilege of supporting a variety of project and program needs from the design of graphics and development of videos, to event support through capturing photos and videos.
The Creative Team of Student Life is highly collaborative, therefore regular partnering with social media, design, and photography Creative Assistants should be expected. This collaborative nature of the team may provide opportunity to help execute social media strategy, design graphics, copywrite, and photo event coverage. While outside the standard scope of video work, these opportunities will support individual growth in these areas while also strengthening team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as the video lead or support for a variety of projects for the Office of Student Life including event recaps, standup interviews, documentary-style field shooting, and B-roll shoots.
  • Direct and manage on-set talent, edit, color correct, and animate video assets, and strategize video capture plans with the team.
  • Ingest, manage, and archive video content and digital files in Dropbox.
  • Research current video trends, styles, and applications.
  • Serve as a liaison with internal and external partners to coordinate locations, develop strategy documents, and video delivery.

QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS

Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be a Liberty University student.
  • Experience in content creation (videography, video editing, etc.)
  • Ability to operate a DSLR/Cinema Camera and accessories.
  • Ability to use Adobe Suite (Premiere Pro).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Liberty University student in a creative/communications field of study.
  • Demonstrable experience in content creation (videography, graphic design, photography, copywriting, etc.)
  • Proficient ability to operate a DSLR/Cinema Camera and accessories.
  • Proficient ability to use Adobe Suite (After Effects, Premiere Pro).
  • Demonstrable experience creating Motion Graphics.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work Environment

The working environment in which one will typically perform the essential functions of this position is in an office setting. However, work frequently occurs in a variety of other settings; including, but not limited to, residence halls, warehouses, and outdoor activities.

Driving Requirements

Use of one's personal vehicle (or LU vehicles) may be required for travel in the performance of the essential functions of this position. Proof of a valid Virginia driver's license, an acceptable DMV record, and liability insurance is required.
