Job description

Venable Royalty, Ltd. is a family office which traces its roots to the 1930s. We own mineral and royalty interests in thousands of wells, and acquire new interests each year. The Land Tech will assist the Land Administrator and Head of Mineral Management with ongoing land operations, acquisitions activities, and administrative work in the land department.

Land Technician Responsibilities

  • Prepare, maintain and process land related files
  • Assist with processing division orders, leasing and acquisitions
  • Prepare plats and maps.
  • Update records and monitor monthly lease obligations, expirations, renewals
  • Calculate royalty, working and net revenue interests, with oversight initially.
  • Assist in resolving accounting issues as needed
  • Assist with projects such as digitization and transfer to land admin software

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • 0-2 years of experience in oil and gas, or a legal department.
  • Mineral and royalty acquisition-related experience and other field land work experience a plus
  • Solid computer skills, including highly proficient in MS Excel, Word, Outlook and Power Point and internet research. Enverus, Quorum / OGSYS / PAKEnergy and other Land Software knowledge a plus.
  • Extremely detail-oriented, organized and able to multi-task with strong communication and planning skills are key to this position
  • 4 year college degree preferred
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills
  • Must enjoy working with numbers
