What you’ll do
You'll provide leadership and strategic direction for Fehr Graham's land surveying practice while ensuring high-quality service delivery, efficient project execution and exceptional client satisfaction.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead and manage the firm's team of licensed Professional Land Surveyors and survey staff.
- Direct, prioritize and balance survey workloads across offices to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Provide technical leadership, guidance and quality oversight for firmwide survey projects.
- Develop project staffing plans and allocate resources to maximize efficiency and client service.
- Represent the firm in client meetings, business development opportunities and industry organizations.
- Establish and maintain surveying standards, procedures and best practices.
- Mentor, coach and support the professional development of survey staff and licensed surveyors.
- Review and approve survey deliverables while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and professional standards.
- Collaborate with leadership to support strategic growth initiatives and expand surveying services.
- Monitor project performance, budgets and client satisfaction to drive continuous improvement.
What it takes
Ideally, you'll have a bachelor's degree in Surveying or a related field. We're looking for candidates with at least 10 years of progressive surveying experience, including leadership or management responsibilities, and an active Illinois Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Illinois PLS License Required
- Strong leadership and team-building skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Exceptional analytical, organizational and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, teams and project schedules.
- Experience mentoring and developing technical professionals.
- Strong client relationship management and business development skills.
