Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Labor & Delivery for a 13-week assignment in San Leandro, CA. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care to mothers and newborns in a fast-paced acute care environment. Candidates should have strong clinical skills in labor and delivery, fetal monitoring, postpartum care, and high-risk obstetrics.
Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to laboring and postpartum patients.
  • Monitor maternal and fetal well-being throughout labor and delivery.
  • Assist physicians and healthcare teams during deliveries and emergency procedures.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
  • Educate patients and families regarding labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation.
  • Respond effectively in emergency and high-risk OB situations.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 1 year of recent full-time equivalent Labor & Delivery experience within the last 3 years.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) License in the state where care is provided.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
Required Certifications
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support
  • BLS - Basic Life Support
  • NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Program
  • AWHONN Certification
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or related field preferred.
  • Five (5) + years of recent Labor & Delivery experience within the last two (2) years preferred.
  • One (1) year of high-risk Labor & Delivery experience within the last two (2) years preferred.
  • High Risk OB experience preferred.
