Labor & Delivery RN: Support Families During Their Most Meaningful Moments

Join the compassionate team at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center in Vancouver, Washington, and make a lasting impact in our Family Birth Center. We are seeking a part time, night shift Labor & Delivery RN to support families through every stage of childbirth with exceptional, patient-centered care.  This position will provide rest and meal break coverage at times. Here, you’ll be part of a mission-driven organization dedicated to providing safe, compassionate care to every person, every time.


Position Details

In our LDRP Module Birth Center, RNs are trained and empowered to provide care across all phases of the birthing experience, including:

  • Antepartum care
  • Labor & delivery
  • Circulating in the OR for cesarean births
  • Postpartum care

This role is ideal for nurses who value variety, autonomy, and supporting patients through some of life’s most important moments.


Department Overview

Families experience labor, delivery, and recovery in the comfort of a single-room birthing suite, each equipped with a state-of-the-art Halo bassinet for their newborn.

Our Family Birth Center features:

  • 32 modern birthing suites
  • 2 dedicated OR suites
  • An adjacent Level III Neonatal ICU with OB Hospitalists and Neonatal Providers on site 24/7
  • 24/7 anesthesia coverage, with two CRNAs always present
  • Annual projected births (FY25): 2,086

We proudly offer a range of personalized birthing options, including:

  • Natural birth
  • Water birth
  • Midwife-supported birth

The care team includes a collaborative mix of RNs and OB Surgical Techs, with nurse-to-patient ratios guided by AWHONN standards.



Requirements

  • Experience:
    • Minimum 1 year of Labor & Delivery RN experience within the last 2 years
      OR
    • Completion of a formal Labor & Delivery internship program
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
  • Licensure: Washington RN license or Multistate RN license by date of hire.
  • BLS Required by date of hire; ACLS, NRP and EFM required within 6 months.
