Job description

Shift: various start times-various end timesHourly Rate: $19.15 an hour + $0.25 2nd Shift shift differential

In the role of Seasonal Labeler operator, you will work onsite at the Imlay City, Michigan, Conagra facility "Home of Vlasic" during the green season (April 15-December 14, with opportunity to advance). You will report to Supervision. You will be scheduled for overtime based on production demand to include weekend work.

You will be trained to set up machinery, tear down machinery, lock-out/tag-out, run equipment and trouble shoot. Your responsibilities will include routine quality verifications in compliance with Safe Quality Foods (SQF) standards.

Position Summary:

The Labeler Operator ensures that each jar has the correct label applied according to standards. The Labeler will ensure that each jar is coded with the correct information and that they are neat and legible.

Essential Duties:

  • Maintain a current inventory on labels and label usage.

  • Manage the machine speed, glue, and labels.

  • Perform the operation of required machinery and equipment.

  • Perform minor routine maintenance by disassembling, cleaning, and reassembling machinery following safety and quality cleaning standards.

  • Comply with standard work instructions.

  • Rework damaged product.

  • Ensure all documentation is completed following Safe Quality Foods (SQF) standards.

  • Demonstrate a willingness to take on additional job responsibilities.

  • Train employees on job specific tasks following safe, quality work methods and standards.

  • Lock Out Tag Out certification.

  • Maintain and demonstrate an understanding of processing specifications for varying products and materials.

  • Identify foreign or defective materials or products and report findings.

  • Quality checks specific to the operation.

  • Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety.

  • Follow safe work practices and GMP's, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained observing company policy.

  • Communicate both verbally and in writing with all levels of employees.
