Position Summary:

This role is a key position within our manufacturing plants and supports our production team leads as they drive production to the highest safety, quality and efficiency standards by fully embracing the Company’s RCE philosophy. This position operates and maintains the label applicator equipment and owns the quality of the label application process.

Measurements/Performance Indicators:

  • Performance efficiency, Rework, OEE, Changeover Time, Label Quality, Production Specification compliance
  • FO, KPI , Consumer Complaints

  • Fill Rate and labor and yield efficiencies
  • Engagement survey and RCE Phase Assessment results

Tasks:

  • Follow good manufacturing practices (GMPs), Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) SQF, and Safety guidelines.
  • Verify date, lot code, plant code, are printed correctly on labels/cases every time labels are changed.
  • Follow and maintain HACCP, cleaning and Sanitation guidelines and processes.
  • Test run labels Ability to communicate (verbally & in writing) to complete required documentation.
  • Adjust equipment settings (position, speed of label, start position of labels) during startup and throughout the run.
  • Complete product change over tasks on the label and case applicator.
  • Ensure orienter /guide is setup correctly Ability to be crossed trained and multitask in multiple positions.
  • Verify correct bowl labels with QA (each order and roll changes).
  • Follow daily pre-flight inspections.
  • Conduct changeovers.
  • Confirm correct labels are being applied to product/case.
  • Clean Herma applicator.
  • Thread labels into equipment
  • Confirm correct labels are being applied to product case.
  • Program information into equipment.
  • Setup label applicator
  • Follow and enforce the 5S Methodology including maintaining tools and equipment as defined by the 5S marking
  • Perform preventive maintenance (PMs) on the label applicator, case applicator, case formers, and the tape machine.
  • Autonomous Maintenance activities including Four Equipment related skills for operators:
  • Ability to detect abnormalities
  • Ability to correct and restore functioning
  • Ability to set and maintain optimum equipment conditions
  • Perform equipment adjustments (position, speed of label, start position of label) and equipment center lining
  • Ability to maintain Bistro Bowl efficiency (Production Rates and bowls per minute (BPM).
  • Machine trouble shooting as needed.
  • Verifies product meets quality standards for size and color without having foreign objects or defects.
  • Follow shut down procedure

Minimum Qualifications:

  • GED/High School Diploma
  • Reading, writing and spekaing English
  • Comprehension of basic math
  • Mechanically inclined

Physical Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, this position entails use of ladders and catwalks to reach production equipment, regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to extreme cold for extended periods of time. The associate frequently works in high, precarious places. The associate is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
