Position Summary


We are seeking an experienced Flexo Press Operator for our 2nd Shift. The ideal candidate will have strong technical press skills, a sharp eye for quality, and a team-oriented, “can-do” attitude.

Key Responsibilities


  • Review job tickets and verify that stock, inks, dies, and tooling match specifications.
  • Set up and operate a Mark Andy P-5 flexographic press, including installation of anilox rolls, ink systems, sleeves/plates, dies, and substrates.
  • Accurately set impressions, registration (print-to-print and print-to-die), and maintain color consistency throughout the run.
  • Load and stage materials (pressure-sensitive substrates, inks, UV/LED systems as applicable) and adjust press settings for optimal performance.
  • Perform complete start-up checks, including registration, color approval, and QC verification prior to full production.
  • Monitor press performance during runs; make real-time adjustments to maintain quality, reduce waste, and minimize downtime.
  • Troubleshoot common P-5 press issues (registration drift, ink flow, tension control, die cutting accuracy).
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on the press to ensure reliability and longevity.
  • Accurately complete production reports, waste tracking, and job documentation.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and standard operating procedures in assigned work areas.

Qualifications

  • Experience operating a Mark Andy P-5 press is highly desirable.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience operating a flexographic color label press in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Commitment to teamwork, accuracy, and consistent quality.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed to meet production deadlines.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, up to 8–10 hours per Shift
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally without assistance
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds frequently throughout the Shift
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds occasionally with team assistance or mechanical lifting equipment
  • Ability to use hands and fingers to grip, handle, and manipulate press components, plates, dies, and tools
  • Ability to reach above shoulder level and below the waist to load materials and perform press setup
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and twist during press operation, setup, and maintenance
  • Ability to visually inspect printed materials for quality, color accuracy, and defects, including close and distance vision
  • Ability to distinguish color variations and maintain print registration accuracy
  • Ability to hear and respond to machine sounds, alarms, and verbal instructions in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work in moderate to loud manufacturing noise environments
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Ability to maintain regular attendance and work overtime as needed
