Job description

Title: Labeling Associate
Reports to: Line leader/Production Supervisor
Department: Operations โ€“ Production Management
Responsibility Summary: The Labeling Associate is responsible for the accurate creation, verification, and application of shipping, compliance, and different kind of labels for finished goods shippers. A key accountability of this role is owning preโ€‘labeling readinessโ€”ensuring all customerโ€‘specific labeling requirements, approved templates, documentation, and materials are reviewed, verified, and available prior to production start.
This position plays a critical role in ensuring GMP compliance and preventing labeling errors that may lead to regulatory risks or product recalls.
The Labeling Associate supports production efficiency while maintaining high standards of quality, accuracy, and safety.
Responsibilities:
This role supports the Production/Packaging department through:
  • Leads preโ€‘labeling activities for multiple customers, following individual customer requirements and approved specifications
  • Ensures labeling accuracy, traceability, and reconciliation in accordance with GMP regulations (including labeling controls)
  • Performs line clearance, label verification, and proper documentation to prevent mixโ€‘ups and compliance risks
  • Maintains records according to Data Integrity (ALCOA) principles
  • Supports internal, customer, and regulatory audits related to labeling and packaging
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy in labeling to ensure compliance with GMP and regulatory requirements
  • Support on-time production schedules by ensuring labeling readiness and minimizing delays.
  • Apply labels to products, components, and finished goods using manual and/or automated labeling equipment in accordance with batch records and work orders.
  • Verify label accuracy including product name, lot number, expiration date, and regulatory information to ensure compliance with GMP and customer requirements.
  • Perform in-process checks to confirm labels are legible, properly aligned, and free of defects. Report discrepancies to supervisor or Quality team.
  • Assist with line clearance activities to ensure correct labels and materials are used for each production run.
  • Monitor label stock levels and coordinate with supervisors to ensure sufficient materials are available for production.
  • Work closely with Production, Quality Control, and Warehouse teams to resolve labeling issues and maintain workflow efficiency.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and maintain a clean, organized work area in compliance with company policies.
  • Follow all safety policies, SOPs, and quality system requirements
  • Assist with packaging, filling, palletizing, and other production-related tasks as needed.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 1โ€“2 years of experience in a manufacturing, packaging, or production environment preferred
  • Experience in cosmetics, OTC, or pharmaceutical manufacturing is preferred
  • Ability to perform tasks with a high degree of accuracy in a GMP-regulated environment
  • Basic computer skills (label printers, barcode systems, or ERP systems preferred

Compensation:
The approximate pay range for this position is $ 16.00 - $17.50 per hour.
This is a full-time position. 5 days per week (M-F) from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM at Totowa, NJ
