Job description

Food Quality and Labeling Specialist
 
We are looking for a QA/Food Quality and Labeling Specialist for JBS who focuses on the technical services side of the business, specifically assisting in the management of the labeling programs, specifications, new product requests, and approvals for our products. This person will be responsible for completing new product requests (NPRs), creating the associated product codes and specifications, guiding the business in creating new approvals, etc.  This includes working with multiple departmental leaders and associates, corporate business analysis team members and business leadership to provide information and reports to enhance decision making and improve processes. 
 
Responsibilities:
  • Process NPRs for existing and new product codes.
  • Perform various data entries for daily, weekly, period, quarter, and year-to-date reports.
  • Assist in completing customer requests for documents.
  • Audit existing label approvals for products to ensure all regulatory requirements have been met.
  • Learn various systems and how they interact with plant systems.
  • Set up product label and weight label for boxed product.
  • Learn various brands/programs and claims associated with each program.
  • Analyze data and prepare written reports of findings as needed.
  • Analyze external suppliers documents.
  • Assist with the EV list maintenance.
  • Other duties as assigned.
 
Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Agriculture, Animal Science, Food Science, Meat Science, Ag Economics, or related field preferred.
  • 2 years in a QA role or related experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and acute attention to detail.
  • Able to work well in a team environment.
  • Intermediate skills in Excel and Word required.
  • Self-motivated, ability to multitask.
  • Experience with the Meat industry is preferred.
  • Can perform the functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation
  • As a salaried position with the company, you may be required to travel at some point to other facilities, to attend Company events, or as a representative of the Company in other situations. Unless otherwise specified in this posting, the amount of travel may vary and the most qualified candidate must be willing and able to travel as business needs dictate.
 
The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits:
  • Benefits: Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment;
  • Paid Time Off: sick leave, vacation, and 6 company observed holidays;
  • 401(k): company match begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule; 
  • Base salary range of $60,000-$70,000;
  • Incentive Pay: This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s annual bonus plan, the amount of bonus varies and is subject to the standard terms and conditions of the incentive program; and
