Summary
Under minimal supervision, responsible for producing accurate proofs or production files that reflect the
expectations of the customer and follow the work instructions to transform final design files into final print
production files.


Essential Functions
This job description reflects management's assignment of essential functions; it does not prescribe or restrict
the tasks that may be assigned.
Preflights, analyzes and assesses incoming art files for missing elements and complete
separations.
Performs minor design functions such as text changes and resizing and on occasion more
extensive redesign tasks are needed.
Produces print ready art files for Flexo, Offset and Digital printing.
Creates comprehensive digital approval files (proofs) for customer review.
Processes final, approved art for Flexo, Offset and Digital printing.
Retrieves legacy art files for release to customers and sales personnel.
Generates TTB and high res jpegs upon request.
Provides production and file preparations necessary to maintain a sufficient 'Ready' work volume
for press.
Assesses job workload and collaborates with scheduling and production on plan to achieve
optimum efficiency.
Provides production and file preparations necessary to maintain a sufficient 'Ready' work volume
for press.
Develops, tests and implements new queues and workflows as required.
Maintains and updates digital filing system for all assignments and projects.
Troubleshoots issues with Press or Operations as they arise.
Monitors consumables inventory and orders supplies as needed.
Participates in Design Review meetings to engineer best throughput.
Reports time and materials consumption accurately (Radius).
Inspects files and proofs to assure product meets internal and external customer quality
requirements.
Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety
regulatory consideration.
Maintains satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness.

Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The
requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and ability required. Reasonable

Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate and Two years' experience in Graphic
Production.
Required to lift up to 35 pounds.
Required to work overtime and flexible hours as needed.
Proficient in all aspects of prepress; typeset, layout, preflight, imposition and proofing.
Knowledge and experience in trapping and color separation for Offset and Flexo presses.
Provides technical expertise and insight to help maximize capabilities and efficiencies within
Digital Prepress.
Communicates well with others and has a clear understanding of the print process in order to be
proactive in problem solving prior to job going on press.
Knowledge of Prepress software applications: Adobe Creative Suite, (Illustrator, Photoshop and
Acrobat primarily). HP SmartStream for Labels
Able to manage time effectively, using excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Understands and thoroughly reads the electronic M.I.S. ticket information.
Maintains a high level of accurate and quality assured work.


Preferred Qualifications
Two years of Art/Technical School courses.
Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Arts.
Experience with flexographic and offset platemaking.
Two years prior work experience as Digital Prepress Level 1.
Ability to pass the Farnsworth-Munsell 100-Hue Color Vision Test with a score of 75 or below.
Knowledge of graphics software such as Esko Automation Engine, Hybrid (PackZ and CloudFlow)
and HP SmartStream for Labels

Compensation 

Hiring Hourly Rate: $25.38 - $29.81

Actual compensation amount paid may be lower or higher to be determined by factors other than race and gender such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
