Job description

The Flexo / Label Press Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining our narrow-web flexographic label presses to produce high-quality printed labels. You will run both a 7-color Mark Andy and a 2-color Mark Andy digital hybrid, with inline rotary die cutting and lamination. This is a hands-on production role that requires strong attention to detail, print quality awareness, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Mon-Fri 8AM-5PM

Equipment You Will Operate

  • Inline Rotary Die Cutting and Lamination
  • Offline Auto Turret Rewinders
  • Offline Slitters
  • Plate Setter

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate label presses for each production run: plate mounting, anilox roller installation, ink loading, and die setup.
  • Monitor print quality throughout each run, checking register, color strength, pressure, drying, and web tension, and making adjustments as needed.
  • Perform troubleshooting and corrective actions to maintain maximum quality output and minimize waste.
  • Execute finishing operations: inline rotary die cutting, lamination, slitting, and waste stripping.
  • Complete all required job travelers, shift logs, and production paperwork accurately.
  • Communicate job status and handoff information clearly with other operators and the production team.
  • Perform general press maintenance: cleaning, lubrication, and basic upkeep.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with company safety standards.

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of experience operating a flexographic label press (narrow-web experience strongly preferred).
  • Ability to set up a press from scratch: plate mounting, anilox selection, ink loading, die installation.
  • Strong eye for print quality: color, register, sharpness, and consistency.
  • Comfortable reading and following job travelers and production specs.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently on a production floor.

Preferred Skills

  • Mark Andy press experience (any model).
  • Experience with digital hybrid press workflows.
  • Familiarity with pressure-sensitive label stock and various substrates.
  • Experience with UV or water-based flexo inks.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude for press maintenance and minor troubleshooting.
