Job Description:


The Rod Breakdown Operator is responsible for coordinating daily operations in the rod breakdown section. This role ensures that production targets are achieved efficiently, safely, and in compliance with quality standards. The Foreman leads operators and technicians, monitors machine performance, and ensures smooth workflow across shifts.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and oversee daily production schedules to meet output and quality targets.
  • Monitor rod breakdown machines and equipment to ensure proper setup, operation, and process parameters.
  • Troubleshoot operational issues and coordinate with maintenance teams for timely resolution. Ensure adherence to quality standards, safety protocols, and company policies.
  • Conduct inspections of rods, equipment, and work areas to maintain process efficiency and product consistency.
  • Maintain production records, shift reports, and downtime logs.
  • Train and mentor operators on machine operation, safety practices, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and quality control teams to resolve bottlenecks.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to optimize efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.


Requirements:

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Diploma or technical certificate in Mechanical, Electrical, Metallurgical, or Industrial Engineering (preferred).
  • 3–5 years of experience in rod breakdown, wire, or similar manufacturing operations.
  • Supervisory or team leadership experience in a production environment.
  • Strong knowledge of rod breakdown machines and process parameters.

Ability to interpret technical drawings and production specifications. Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills. Commitment to safety, quality, and efficiency.

Work conditions: Plant-based, with regular supervision on the production floor. Shift work required (day/night) with potential overtime. Exposure to high-temperature and heavy industrial environments.
