Jobsite Operator

Overview:


This position provides safe and efficient operation of heavy equipment (fork truck, lull, telehandler) used for the movement of packages/documents/heavyweight, goods. Assists in the buildup/breakdown of pallets containing heavyweight freight. Serves as the liaison between Eckart LLC and SEG, as required.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment, including forklifts, lulls, and telehandlers, to move packages, documents, freight, and other materials
  • Load, unload, transport, and position heavyweight goods in accordance with established safety procedures and operational requirements
  • Assist with the build-up and breakdown of pallets containing heavyweight freight to ensure proper handling and shipment preparation
  • Inspect equipment before and after use, reporting maintenance needs, safety concerns, or operational issues promptly.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment while adhering to company policies and regulatory safety standards.
  • Coordinate the movement and handling of materials to support operational efficiency and customer service objectives
  • Serve as a liaison between Eckart LLC and SEG, facilitating communication, coordinating activities, and addressing operational needs as required
  • Ensure accuracy and accountability in the handling, storage, and movement of freight and materials
  • Support warehouse and logistics operations by assisting with additional material-handling and freight-processing duties as needed.
  • Comply with all company, customer, and regulatory requirements related to safety, equipment operation, and material handling


SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • The ability to communicate both timely and effectively, in a noisy operations environment, required
  • Organized team player with a strong aptitude to performing tasks accurately
  • Punctual, efficient and professional
  • Able to walk, stand, bend, and squat for designated work hours
  • Able to lift 50 lbs. without assistance from the ground to chest level and to maneuver packages of any weight above 50 lbs. using appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person
  • Team player, adaptable, energetic with a positive attitude
  • Able to maneuver packages above shoulder level. Ability to maneuver packages in enclosed spaces and stack packages above one’s head if required at location
  • Able to work in all weather conditions if required at work location
  • Able to climb stairs and ladders if required at work location
  • Able to successfully complete all basic and re-currency training


EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  • Minimum High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous warehouse experience desirable
  • Knowledge of or previous experience in the Plumbing/Electrical industry is an asset
  • Current Forklift Certification desirable

JOB CONDITIONS

Non-covered safety sensitive position. Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. Since operating motorized conveyances is required in this job, employee must possess a valid driver's license.


Final candidates will be required to undergo and pass a pre-employment drug screen.
