MUST HAVE FLEXOGRAPHIC EXPERIENCE***
The Flexo Press Operator outlines the responsibilities for an advanced level Flexo Press Operator position. In addition to mastering the job responsibilities outlined for a Flexo Press Operator, the Flexo Press Operator will produce high quality products utilizing water base and UV Flexo inks. The Flexo Press Operator demonstrates superior performance and the leadership skills required to lead fellow Flexo Press Operators and assists the Department Head in reviewing and approving complex Flexo plans. The Flexo Press Operator takes initiative to review and improve existing SOP's, Work Instructions and Forms used in the Flexo process, while also staying abreast of new technologies that improve efficiencies or introduce new capabilities. Leads and coordinates the activities to ensure the production of a quality product. Applies knowledge of Flexo substrates and production techniques to meet or exceed customer requirements and quality standards. The Flexo Press Operator consistently exceeds productivity standards and job schedule. The Flexo Press Operator also diagnoses problems, makes adjustments, and/or repairs in a timely manner. Performs all color management procedures and testing. Accountable for performing job responsibilities safely and with quality and on-time delivery services while minimizing waste and spoilage.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Leads a team and coordinates the activities to ensure the production of a quality product
  • Demonstrates mastery skills utilizing water base and UV flexo inks to products high quality products
  • Proactively runs the jobs without supervision, and may mentor and provide cross training to level I and II operators on all equipment in the department
  • Provides the daily leadership and guidance related to work activities and schedules assigned in the functional area
  • Stays current on technology and new developments in the respective field and consults with the management team to determine required course of action
  • Recognized by the Company and/or peers as the technical expert in this field/functional area
  • Serves in a back-up role to the Department Head in the respective functional area
  • May meet regularly with vendors and evaluates new substrates and equipment and makes recommendations for material purchases and upgrades
  • Produces high quality products utilizing water base and UV Flexo inks
  • Regularly monitors machine speeds to maximize throughput
  • Consistently exceeds departmental goals related to production standards and objectives
  • Observes established safe working and housekeeping procedures; promptly corrects hazardous situations
  • Follows all standard operating procedures, work instructions, and ISO requirements
  • Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.

Position Qualifications:
Experience, Licenses, Certifications
  • Requires a High School diploma or equivalent
  • Typically requires a minimum of 8 to 10 years of Flexographic printing
  • Experience with G7 color theory
  • Experience with MIS software such Monarch

  • Basic proficiency using the internet, Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), and Monarch
  • Proficient in the use of office equipment: computer, calculator, printers, copiers, and telephone system
