Job description

Vinmar Recycling Solutions is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Lab Technician Intern to support our laboratory operations in Baytown, Texas, for an internship. This role reports directly to the Lab Technician and provides hands-on exposure to plastics testing, recycling processes, and laboratory best practices in a fast-growing environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for students pursuing Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related fields to gain practical experience working with polymer testing and quality control processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in performing laboratory testing on incoming materials, in-process samples, and finished recycled plastic products
  • Support sample preparation and conditioning according to standardized lab procedures
  • Help operate basic laboratory equipment under supervision (e.g., melt index, density, and other testing instruments)
  • Accurately record and organize test data for review by the Lab Technician and Quality team
  • Maintain lab cleanliness, organization, and adherence to safety protocols
  • Assist with blown film testing and product evaluation activities
  • Support routine tasks such as equipment setup, calibration assistance, and general lab upkeep
  • Collaborate with team members on ongoing lab projects and process improvements

Learning Opportunities
